As Simplify Global Education marks another year of milestones, the organization is setting its sights firmly on the future. With demand for ESL education continuing to grow, SGE is preparing to expand its offerings and deepen its impact.

Prof. Wayne Schlegel

Founding Director

Prof. Wayne Schlegel is an Honorary Board Member and volunteer ESL Instructor at Simplify Global Education (SGE), where he currently teaches at the Intermediate Level. A graduate of Yale University and Norwich University, he brings decades of global experience in English language education, curriculum design, and school leadership.

Prof. Schlegel has taught English across all proficiency levels—from primary to university—and is a recipient of multiple national teaching awards. His distinguished career includes serving as a school principal, English department head, and Cambridge-certified teacher trainer. With a strong foundation in student-centered learning, experiential education, and differentiated instruction, he specializes in curriculum development and assessment design. Having taught in the United States and twelve other countries across West Africa, East Asia, South America, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Muslim world, Prof. Schlegel is deeply committed to intercultural education and inclusive pedagogy. His work continues to inspire learners and educators globally.
