Simplify Global Education (SGE) is proud to announce the official launch of its new website and digital learning platform, designed to better serve immigrant and refugee communities across Northern Virginia—and beyond. The platform showcases SGE’s inspiring history, growing impact, and ambitious vision for the future.
Simplify Global Education celebrated its 4th ESL Graduation Ceremony at The Atrium at Meadowlark Gardens, honoring the resilience and determination of its diverse student body, including graduates from professions like engineering, nursing, journalism, and teaching.
SGE honored counties and programs like Alexandria, Fairfax, and Prince William County Departments, and the VIEW Program for their critical support in providing ESL training and referrals, enabling student success.
SGE offers English classes for immigrant students, providing them with the skills and confidence they need to succeed in their new communities.
SGE provides volunteer opportunities for individuals to support immigrant students, including tutoring, mentoring, and administrative support.
SGE is launching a donation drive to support immigrant education, with a goal of raising $10,000 to support its programs and services.

As Simplify Global Education marks another year of milestones, the organization is setting its sights firmly on the future. With demand for ESL education continuing to grow, SGE is preparing to expand its offerings and deepen its impact.
“This is only the beginning,” said Executive Director Sultani. “Our graduates are proof that when given the chance, immigrants and refugees don't just survive—they lead.”
With a new digital platform in place, a network of strong partners, and a growing base of graduates, SGE is poised to support hundreds more in the years ahead.
Prof. Wayne Schlegel is an Honorary Board Member and volunteer ESL Instructor at Simplify Global Education (SGE), where he currently teaches at the Intermediate Level. A graduate of Yale University and Norwich University, he brings decades of global experience in English language education, curriculum design, and school leadership.
Prof. Schlegel has taught English across all proficiency levels—from primary to university—and is a recipient of multiple national teaching awards. His distinguished career includes serving as a school principal, English department head, and Cambridge-certified teacher trainer. With a strong foundation in student-centered learning, experiential education, and differentiated instruction, he specializes in curriculum development and assessment design.
Having taught in the United States and twelve other countries across West Africa, East Asia, South America, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Muslim world, Prof. Schlegel is deeply committed to intercultural education and inclusive pedagogy. His work continues to inspire learners and educators globally.
Ms. Arzo Shadab has been an integral part of Simplify Global Education (SGE) since 2022. She holds a degree in English Literature from Kabul University and has also studied at the American University of Afghanistan.
